Tattooed

I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY IT’S STILL GRAINY IF ITS IN HD. If anyone could help me out, that’d be awesome. Temporary tattooing is an art. It’s having your story written on your body, except when the story changes, so can your tattoo. By the way, there was more of a focus on the left side of my body because right before I fell off a longboard and scraped up my right side pretty freaking bad. But we couldn’t just not do it- it took two hours to get all five thousand of those suckers on. (This video was supposed to be funny by being super serious… My humor is a fail.) Note: I’ve wanted to do this since middle school. Explosions in the Sky: Your Hand in Mine.

Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry Trailer

Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry Trailer horismokumovie.com Writer Erich Weiss Executive Producer: Steven Grasse SXSW Screening Times Landmark Dobie Theatre 2021 Guadalupe St Austin,TX Wednesday, March 12th at 6:30pm Thursday, March 13th at 11am Friday, March 14th at 1:30pm Synopsis Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry is a feature length documentary exploring the roots of American tattooing through the life of its most iconoclastic figure, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. Considered by many the foremost tattoo artist of all time, Collins is the father of modern day tattooing, whose uncompromising lifestyle and larger than life persona made him an American legend. Through rare interviews, photographs and hours of archival footage, Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry: The Life and Times of Norman Keith Collins, explores the past, present and future of the global tattooing phenomenon. Based in Honolulu for most of his career, Sailor Jerry would come to symbolize the masculine ethos of a time when thousands of enlisted men were embanked in Hawaii, during World War II. Miles from home, ready to die, and fueled by devil-may care attitudes, these men went on shore leave with a single purpose in mind: to get “Stewed, Screwed and Tattooed.” Jerry marked these men with what would come to symbolize a new style of American folk art; tattoos that blended traditional elements of continental motifs with the finesse, shading, and artistic nuance of the Japanese tattoo masters, known as horis. Borne from his own years of

Kasrvnotebook: A tattoo, or dermal pigmentation, is a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification, while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding. Tattooing has been practiced worldwide. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, wore facial tattoos, as do some Maori of New Zealand to this day. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples, and among certain tribal groups in the Philippines, Borneo, Mentawai Islands, Africa, North America, South America, Mesoamerica, Europe, Japan, Cambodia, New Zealand and China. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular all over the world. The word “tattoo” is a borrowing of the Samoan word tatau, meaning to mark or strike twice (the latter referring to traditional methods of applying the designs). The first syllable “ta”, meaning “hand”, is repeated twice as an onomatopoeic reference to the repetitive nature of the action, and the final syllable “U” translates to “color”. The instrument used to pierce the skin in Polynesian tattooing is called a hahau, the syllable “ha” meaning to “strike or pierce”. The OED gives the etymology of tattoo as “In 18th c. tattaow, tattow. From Polynesian
